About twelve individuals who died in a car accident on Friday in Gbongan, Osun State, along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway, have been buried.
According to earlier reports, a car accident occurred at Gbongan, located along the Ife-Ibadan Expressway, Osun State, that resulted in no less than 12 fatalities and eight injuries.
Two commercial buses and a truck were involved in the collision, according to Kehinde Adeleke, NSCDC spokesperson for the Osun Command, who also confirmed the accident.
She reported that twelve passengers perished instantly and eight others were hurt.
A resident reported that the deceased’s mass funeral prayer had taken place on Saturday at about 9:00 AM in Shiwarin central mosque and was witnessed by the Emir of Dutse, Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, his council members, families and friends of the deceased.
He said most of the deceased were survived with wives and children.
The Emir of Dutse Hameem Nuhu Muhammad Sanusi, however, prayed God to grant the souls eternal rest and the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
