Dr. Abdulhakeem Mobolaji and six other people have been proposed by President Buhari for the positions of chair of the board and members of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC).
Buhari made the announcement of the nomination in a letter to Senate President Ahmad Lawan that was presented on Tuesday during parliamentary session.
In the letter, President Mohammedu Buhari stated that the nominations were in accordance with the Constitution’s provisions and current law, and he asked the Senate to approve the candidates.
The board has proposed Dr. Abdulhakeem Mobolaji (South-West) as its chairman, members of the board are Prof. Osita Ogwu from the South East, Umar Jubril from the North Central, Mohammed Haruna from the North East, Yesmin Dalhatu from the North West, Simon Ogie from the South-South, and Abimbola Olasore from the South-South (South-West).
Buhari requested that the nominations be confirmed “in the normal speedy way” by the Senate.
