The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has suspended former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, as well as former Senate President Pius Anyim, Prof Dennis Ityavyar, and Aslam Aliyu, for alleged anti-party activities.
Debo Ologunagba, the PDP’s National Publicity Secretary, made the announcement on Thursday.
“The suspension, which takes effect on Thursday,” the statement says, “was reached after an extensive review of the party’s affairs, in accordance with the provisions of the PDP Constitution (as amended in 2017).”
The main opposition party has also submitted Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to the National Disciplinary Committee for alleged anti-party actions.
“The PDP urges all leaders, critical stakeholders and teeming members of our party across the country to remain united and focused at this critical time,” the statement added.
