Singer Peter Okoye has publicly responded to his older brother, Jude Okoye, days after the music executive allegedly criticized him and other former signees for financial struggles.
On June 27, Jude Okoye reportedly posted remarks aimed at Peter, former signee Cynthia Morgan, and others, claiming they became “avaricious” after profiting from his platform, subsequently went bankrupt after leaving his label, and are now seeking someone to blame. He also mentioned accusations of money laundering against himself, asserting that despite these challenges, he refuses to be blackmailed or comply with demands.
In response, Peter Okoye took to Instagram this afternoon. Describing Jude as an “Agbaya” (a Nigerian slang term for an older person who acts immaturely), Peter asserted that “respect is earned, never given.” He directly refuted Jude’s claim of having “shoulder-supported” him during his time as PSquare manager, stating that Jude, like his two predecessors, was a manager who was ultimately “fired.”
Peter further emphasized that his journey since going solo and leaving the PSquare band has been “more peaceful and fruitful,” both personally and financially.
